Do Harmoniums need to be tuned before performances?
No. This is probably the most frequently-asked question! Harmoniums only need to be tuned in any significant way once every 50 years or so. This is because the sound is created using brass reeds which are ‘cut to length’. Their fixed positions in the instrument mean that even after being transported, they don’t need to be tuned before each performance.
